1960's Solid Italian 18K Yellow Gold Ruby and Diamond Cocktail Ring
A bold Italian made ring dating to the 1960's
Solid 18K yellow gold ring (stamped 18K and Italy) is a floral dome with seven deeply textured petal flowers set with gemstones. The center top flower features a round cut diamond weighing approx. .05 ct set in four prongs, surrounded by six slightly purple/red hue round cut rubies also prong set. The rubies weigh approx. .40 ctw. Below are six more diamonds, .35 ctw.
This is a bold cocktail style-3/4" front x 5/8" wide. Sits off the finger 1/2".
The diamonds are clean under loupe and estimated at an H-I color. I do believe the rubies are natural as I am seeing under the microscope intersecting rutile needles. Please note I see a chip on the corner of one ruby and another has a surface reaching inclusion. Also there is some wear to some facet junctions-again this is under high magnification by microscope. You won't note any of these characteristics by eye. Overall for a preowned vintage ring the condition is good.
