A special antique Art Deco ring dating the mid 1920-1930's. The platinum setting (not stamped but tested) features an old mine cut diamond measuring approx. 7.94 mm diameter, estimated weight 1.98 cts, H-I color, VVS2 clarity. If you love a chunky old cut this is it! Small table, and has a larger open culet. Close to round -may have been recut in the 1920's. Based on the facets, table size it could be a diamond that is dating to the late 19th century.
The diamond for an older cut is well done. It is set securely in a box mounting by corner prongs. Sits up off the finger 6.21 mm. On each side are triangle cut emeralds measuring approx. 3.97 mm x 1.96 mm, bezel set with milgrain edge. The gallery features filigree, scroll work, and 12 additional round cut diamonds measuring appro. 1.40 mm diameter each. Highly decorative ring with engraving and milgrain. The shoulders are darted with engraved flower motifon top and sides.
A gorgeous ring with good cut (for an older cut diamond), good color and clarity in a gorgeous setting.
Overall the condition is very good. Very slight wear to the emeralds under magnification. The milgrain and design of the ring is still present. 4.3 grams
