What is a doublet? Its when a gemstone is actually two gemstones sandwiched together. This ring features a natural sapphire table most likely over corundum (I can't access the pavillion it to check). Only with close inspection viewing the girdle straight on with proper lighting would anyone know. So you get a big natural looking sapphire for much much less money.
This ring dates to around 2000. The oval sapphire doublet measures 9.15 x 7.03 mm it is a med dark blue hue, secured by 4 prongs. The sapphire doublet is approx. 2.5 cts. Surrounding the sapphire are natural round cut diamonds measuring approx. 1.6 mm each on the outer edge than graduated down in size towards the center. There are three tiers of diamond halos. The shoulders are 3 mm wide near the front. Currently a size 7.25 but message us if you need a different size and we can get you an estimate.
Overall this ring looks very good-was not worn much as all. Sapphire is shiny -and no scratches or damage. Under magnification I saw one girdle of a diamond with a little chip-secure in the prongs. A big looking ring for a steal!
